FKS Food and Agri Secures First-Ever Sustainable Revolving Trade Finance Facility

FKS Food and Agri Pte Ltd (“FKS FA” or “the Group”) proudly announces that Enerfo Pte Ltd (“Enerfo”), the merchandising arm of the Group, has established its first and inaugural sustainable revolving trade finance facility. This significant milestone marks FKS FA’s unwavering commitment to integrating responsible practices into its core operations and fostering a responsible supply chain.

This facility supports FKS FA’s improved Supplier Code of Conduct, which aims to enhance governance and encourage responsible practices among all its supply chain partners to adhere to the highest standards of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) criteria, further promoting transparency and accountability across the supply chain.

Enerfo will receive preferential pricing for the financing of certified agri-commodities from accredited agencies such as the Round Table of Sustainable Soy, the Proterra Foundation, and Bonsucro. Enerfo has been sourcing agri-commodities since 2011, buying agri-commodities from origination countries (eg, US, Argentina) to Southeast Asia.

By working closely with its suppliers, the Group aims to enhance the traceability and integrity of the commodities it sources, ultimately delivering greater value to its customers and stakeholders. This inaugural sustainable trade finance facility empowers FKS FA to advance its ESG objectives. By fostering a deeper understanding and integration of ESG principles among its suppliers, FKS FA reinforces its dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and society.

FKS Banker’s Day 2023

FKS Food and Agri had recently organised it’s inaugural banker’s day in Indonesia. The two-day event was attended by over 100 bankers from Indonesia, Singapore, Amsterdam, Switzerland and Brazil.

Led by our Group CEO, Chandy Kusuma, the senior management team shared key milestones achieved by FKS FA and its subsidiaries, business highlights and strategies moving forward. Our management team had the opportunity to interact with our stakeholder and address questions raised through this event.

To provide deeper understanding on our operations, we also hosted a full day site visit to our integrated processing complex in Cilegon West Java where we showcased our port and distribution operations, sugar refining plant and our JV flour milling operations.

A survey conducted by Korn Ferry Indonesia and SWA Magazine to provide feedback and appreciation towards the best company to work in Indonesia. Employer of Choice is based on overall employee engagement and enablement score, while Pandemic Responses is based on how company maintain employee’s well-being and responding to the crisis. Total of 21 companies and 44,670 employees participated in the 2021 survey.

Zero Accident Award for Nusa Prima Logistik

Safety has always been our key priority in all of our business aspects. Today, we are proud to announce that Nusa Prima Logistik, our Integrated Transit Warehouse Terminal facility located in Teluk Lamong, Surabaya, has received Zero Accident Award from the East Java Governor as an acknowledgement of its achievement in the implementation of safety procedures by completing 555,813 of working hours without any work related accident that leads to the absence of any working days as counted from January 1st, 2018 to October 31st, 2020.

A safe working environment is something that we took very seriously in Nusa Prima Logistik. We ensure that every employees that works inside the facility has gone through a proper and mandatory safety induction and has been trained properly with global standards to avoid any unnecessary mistake that can lead to any accident.

FKS Giving Back to the Community

FKS Group believe that the involvement of our employees toward the Company’s social activities is key to realize one of our core values under FKS Way -“Caring”.

Through FKS Foundation, we collaborated with Menjadi Indonesia Pintar (MIP) -an organization which focus is in sharing knowledge and inspiring children, and initated “FKS Give Back to Community” program. The program is created as a platform for our employees to have a special opportunity to be involved directly with many underprivileged children around Jabodetabek area.
The program was launched in August and to date 2 batches have been conducted, with total reach of up tp 60 children in each session, and few more batches are expected to be done in the next couple of months period.

We hope the program can act not only as a means to help and inspire the underprivileged children, but also as a reminder to our employees and communities of how important it is to be compassionate and to care for others even more during pandemic.

Indonesia’s First Flour Mills Using Renewable Energy Sources

FKS Group commits to support UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and having Goal #11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities as one of the main focuses; FKS Group, through Bungasari, is investing Solar Panel for their factory in Medan with the target to have the first phase done by early 2022.

This initiative leads Bungasari to be the First Flour mill in Indonesia to use Renewable Energy Sources, which is also aligned with the Government’s “Gerakan Nasional Sejuta Surya” campaign.

Bungasari – New Flour Mills In Makassar and Medan

Bungasari Flour Mills Indonesia (BFMI) has officially opened the new flour milling facilities in Medan, Sumatera Utara, and Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday, 16 February 2020. The opening ceremony of the new facilities was held using the theme “Bungasari Horas-Ewako” where the shareholders and the board of directors from Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia, together with their distributors and partners, attended the ceremony virtually.

With a total investment of 90 million USD on an 8.1 ha land area, BFMI proves its commitment to continuously expanding its production capacity to keep up with the ever-growing customer demand. President Director Bungasari Flour Mills Indonesia, Budianto Wijaya, also explained that one of the main purposes of developing both facilities is to ensure the continuous supply across Indonesia for good quality and affordable flour products.

The new facilities will enable more efficient supply chains to supply customers in North Sumatera and East Indonesia, where not many flour producers can serve large capacity demand in the region. With the passion and determination to continue reaching the customers all over Indonesia, both flour mills’ facilities equipped with the latest technology and machinery in the wheat processing system were ready to operate near the closing year of 2020.

Soft Launching of Sentral Grain Terminal 2

Sentral Grain Terminal (SGT), a subsidiary of FKS Logistics, together with Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS), a subsidiary of Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk, has held a soft launching of Sentral Grain Terminal 2 with its Integrated Warehouse (IWH) facilities on 23 June 2020 located at Cigading Port, Cilegon. The first phase has completed the construction of a storage facility (Flat Storage) with a capacity of 200,000 MT. The next phase will include constructing a vertical warehouse facility (Silo) with a minimum capacity of 70,000 MT, which will make the total capacity of 270,000 MT, making Sentral Grain Terminal 2 one of the largest in ASEAN.

IWH has the latest updated technology facilities in Indonesia. The 11.6-hectare transit warehouse will be connected directly to the Continuous Ship Unloader (CSU), operated by KBS, located at Pier 1 through a food grade conveyor belt. CSU is designed and programmed to serve cargo discharging such as soybean, corn, wheat & soybean meal. CSU’s discharge rate can reach 1,300 tons/hour or equal to 20,000 tons/day. The collaboration between two facilities is expected to increase the Company’s productivity and its customers.

200,000 Rapid Test Kit for Indonesia

Through FKS Foundation, FKS Group is committed to support Indonesian Government in fighting and stopping the spread of Covid-19. FKS Group donated 200,000 units of certified rapid test kits and distributed it to key institutions in Indonesia such as the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Disaster Management Agency and main public hospitals in Indonesia.
